Education is usually the reason why your quality of life improves. However, many times people feel that they cannot afford it or do not know what to do. At Florida Education Institute we strongly feel that everyone that wants to invest in their future should have access to affordable education. That is, cost should not be an obstacle, and neither is being well informed. For this reason, our Financial Aid Office provides one-on-one assistance in applying for financial aid and exploring your financial options.
Applying for financial aid for some students can be intimidating, even confusing. People who understand the value of education know that the real cost is not having one. If education is important to you, we encourage you to inquire about financial aid programs you may qualify for. Our Financial Aid Office is here to help you explore every financial aid option so you reach your educational goals and make education affordable.
Students and prospective students wishing to apply for financial aid must submit the appropriate documentation and forms. Please contact the FEI Financial Aid Office for additional information and application forms. The following is a list of federal and local financial assistance programs available to FEI students:
This is a federal student aid program that does not require repayment. Awards are based on enrollment status and financial need. Yearly amounts may vary based on federal appropriations. Students must file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to apply for a Federal Pell Grant. https://fafsa.ed.gov/
This program is for students who demonstrate exceptional financial need, and repayment is not required.
The Federal Subsidized Direct Loans are part of a program that provides low interest, need based loans for qualifying students enrolled in Florida Education Institute at least half time. This is a loan and repayment is required. Interest is paid by the government while students are enrolled in school at least half time, including six months after school.
The Federal Unsubsidized Direct Loans are part of a program that provides low interest loans for qualifying students enrolled at Florida Education Institute at least half time. This is a loan and repayment is required. This loan may be used in conjunction with the Federal Subsidized Loan (see above). The student is responsible for the interest payments while attending school, but these payments can be deferred by the student until after graduation.
The Federal Direct Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) : This is a low interest loan made available to parents of dependent students to assist with educational expenses. This is a loan and repayment is required. These loans require a credit check and repayment of both principal and interest begins 60 days after the final disbursement is made.
Any student enrolled at Florida Education Institute and receiving VA educational benefits must adhere to all Florida Education Institute policies and procedures, including all rules and regulations mentioned in the school catalog. Any VA approved student that does not pass any SAP probation period or exceeds 10 consecutive unexcused absences will have his/her VA educational benefits terminated.
The Financial Aid Office will assist the student in searching for alternative sources of financing for the student’s education.
The Florida Education Institute Loan Program is available for students. To be eligible students must maintain continuous and uninterrupted full-time enrollment. Students approved for this type of loan should maintain a current payment status.
This scholarship is in remembrance of Luis Alvarez, CPA, Florida Education Institute’s accountant from the time the school was founded until his passing in 2009. Mr. Alvarez was a believer in the human spirit and a great family man. His business philosophy was guided by two principles: sincere hard work and friendship. The number of scholarships awarded varies per year and on funding availability. The Florida Education Institute High School Scholarship is available to high school seniors interested in pursuing their education at Florida Education Institute.
You may be qualified for one of four (4) scholarships (2 in the winter and 2 in the fall) granted to career-focused and success-driven high school seniors.
